Invitation Symposium Platform Linked Data Netherlands - June 27th Town Hall Eindhoven[bewerken]

The Symposium Platform Linked Data Netherlands is the premier venue for Linked Data in Government and Industry in The Netherlands, organized by PLDN (Platform Linked Data Netherlands). This year’s symposium, held on June 27th, 2016 in Eindhoven (Town hall) is a side event of the European Data Forum (EDF) 2016 which takes place on June 29th – 30th, 2016 also in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

Our program will consist of three main parts (detailed program will be published later):

A. Linked Data & Application[bewerken]

In this first part in the morning the central theme will be how Linked Data fosters innovation and how benefits can be achieved. In this session a new publication will be launched (freely available for all registrants) containing descriptions of 15 linked data applications. This session will also contain updates on the major linked data applications in the Netherlands in Industry, Government and Academia. Participants in this session include: Mary-Ann Schreurs (Wethouder Innovation, Municipality of Eindhoven), Guido Dierick (Executive Vice President & CEO NXP Nederland), Aart-Jan Kleinjan (Directeur Omgevingswet, Kadaster), Frank van Harmelen (Hoogleraar Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam).

B. Linked Data Doctoral Consortium[bewerken]

The second part will host the first PLDN Doctoral Consortium, a cooperation between PLDN, SIKS, the Netherlands Research School for Information and Knowledge Systems and Amsterdam Data Science (ADS). In this session selected PhD students working on topics related to Linked Data, Semantic Web and Data Science will present their research to the panel and the audience.

The doctoral consortium panel include the following experts: Sören Auer (University of Bonn), Frank van Harmelen (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam), Jos van Hillegersberg (Universiteit Twente), Geert Jan Houben (Delft University of Technology), Jacco van Ossenbruggen (Centrum Wiskunde & Informatica (CWI)/Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam), Simon Scheider (Utrecht University), Ruben Verborgh (Ghent University).

C. Linked Data Speed Dating[bewerken]

The final part will be speed dating between knowledge suppliers and knowledge seekers, with the goal of creating matched couples who will explore their shared interests and seek for further collaboration. This is a unique opportunity to meet interesting partners for further collaboration without barriers. Selected matches will be financially supported by the Platform Linked Data Netherlands.

As always the day will be ended with drinks.
